Athabasca University provides free online courses on Canadian law to the public

Athabasca University is an open online university, headquartered in Athabasca Alberta. It is dedicated to the removal of barriers that restrict access to and success in university-level study and to increasing equality of educational opportunity for adult learners worldwide. Students enrolled at Athabasca University can take classes in legal studies or a graduate diploma in legislative drafting. ​
The University's offerings also include free, non-credit online courses available to interested members of the public on a range of legal topics: 

  • Legal Literacy
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution 
  • Introduction to Legislative Drafting
  • Legislative Structure, Style, and Limits
  • Drafting Preliminary, Amending, and Final Provisions
  • Implementation Provisions and Drafting Processes
